Tervis, a term coined by combining the last three letters of two last names, Mr. Frank Cotter and Mr. G. Howlett Davis. These two engineers realized when completely sealing air between two plastic walls makes a great insulator and the Tervis tumbler was born. The inventors sold the rights and the company to the current owners in the 1960s. Tervis is still owned by the Donelly family and is located in Florida. I personally have a cabinet full of tumblers in different sizes and ranging from the age of 25 years to less than a year. The quality of each cup is the same as the day purchased and every cup has been cleaned in the dishwasher countless times. My favorite Tervis cup is personalized with my name and my favorite team, UGA. One can find any combination of embellishment on the Tervis company website without enter a store. Thankfully, I have not needed the warranty; however, I am glad I do not have to be concerned with the original box, original receipt or the age of the cup.
