There are many kinds of Technology present in today's classroom, including tablets, computers, internet access, color printers, and even devices used for reading application. According to Mrs. Carlene Harden, who has worked in the school district for 10 years, she feels that these pieces of Technology had the potential to allow content to be taught much more efficiently. She also believes that technology provides a more engaging and is relevant to students of the Next Generation.
In her classroom experience as a teacher candidate she has explored and Incorporated technology in the classroom. It has reigns from simple stereo speaker systems, computers, digital microphones, smart interactive whiteboards, and online media. …show more content…
At Bunker they utilize a computer lab and a pot that has computers to share amongst seven classrooms so it is difficult to get out there to teach lessons about technology. However they do try to contribute a few mini lessons with small groups to show how to use PowerPoint ticket to read and front row throughout the school year.
In regards to technology interfering with teaching and learning in the classroom, Mrs. Harden feels that it does not interfere with teaching or learning. She actually believes that it enhances the process due the fact that students have a lot of technology in their homes however she does believe that there is a huge gap or students need more access to technology for example a laptop or a tablet for each student would be beneficial instead of trying to share them between 28 to 32 students.
Mrs. Harden's biggest suggestion to improve the use of technology in the in the classroom would be more funding or donations. This would help provide students with their own personal tool, whether it's a laptop or an iPad. Laptops, would allow students to be able to use more programs that will benefit them in the long run. IPads, would benefit them for practice and also for research based
