Summary of Research & Pedagogical Techniques
This paper contains researches about teaching adjective clauses. In here, I will discuss the various methods in teaching adjective clauses for the ESL/EFL students. After examining the different methods and comparing them with each other, this paper will explain the application of the knowledge to my present and future teaching and will demonstrate the influence of the study to the development of my lesson plan. Studying and reviewing past researches increases my confidence in tackling the subject and it gives ideas on the method of how can I teach it effectively in the future. Creating a method of teaching adjective clauses will help students in improving their understanding in complex sentences and their ability in sentence construction. Adjective clauses are important because they are grammatical constructions that are being use commonly in the daily broadsheets. Most descriptions and information in the papers are being stated using adjective clauses including people ages, affiliations, places, time, etc. And according to ESL library.com, adjective clauses are used in newspapers at the rate of at least twenty for very page. Students who can utilize adjective clauses can improve their communicative ability even with limited vocabulary. Thus, adjective clauses are very important and instructors should explore the various ways of teaching the topic to develop a more helpful approach in teaching the subject for the better learning of the students.
Approaches First and foremost, let us define what is adjective clause and other related terminologies before describing the different approaches in teaching it. An adjective clause is a dependent and subordinate clause that is use to modify a noun and a pronoun in the main clause. It can look like a sentence because it contains verbs and nouns.
