QUESTION 1
English was spread during the 16th century by British Empire. In the 20th, English was reinforced in the United States domination in many aspects; such as economy, politics, military or even movies. During the World Wars, English became official language in British and American’s colonies. As the result, according to Raine P., 2012, English becomes the world’s second largest language by an estimated 427 million native speakers and 950 million people speak English as second language. This fact has not been added by the wide number of learners in the word. Because of widely speaking, English has been considerate as “global language”.

QUESTION 2
Communicative approach turns the pressure for instructors from methods or curriculum into sitting the needs of learners. This approach maximizes opportunities for learners to target English in a communicative way through variety of activities. This method also focuses on the social purposes rather than grammar or correctness of language. Morover, the approach may seek to personalize and localize in order to adapt it to learners’ interest. As the result, English is retain by learners more easily as well as motivated them to experience real English world in their class.
