Toy Essay
Cherished Memory
We all have that special, memorable toy from our childhood that we won’t ever forget. For some it could be that toy car that took you across the universe and back, other it maybe legos that could tower into a whole city of your own. As for me, it is the classic old teddy bear that protected me day and night and was always by my side. The teddy bear has a interesting back story that few have learned about. Although the bear itself has evolved into more than just a bear physically, it still warms and comforts a child's heart. It has become a best friend from young to the old, strong memories for decades and more to come. They teddy bear is more than a toy, it has a history all of its own and it has evolved into many things but still comforts the young and old. Felt, stuffing and a few buttons can mean the world to someone. My last Santa present became my best friend, Wilson. Although it was just a toy it became part of my family. I created memories and stories throughout the years with him. An inanimate object can mean the world to someone; it is no longer just a toy rather a member of the family. When I was younger I could tell my teddy everything knowing he would not speak a word to anyone. He was a shoulder to cry on when hard times came around. At night he would protect me from the monsters under my bed and make the night a little less scary. We would have so many adventures in the backyard from fighting off dragons to exploring the jungle. Although I am older I plan on keeping my teddy bear for as long as I live because he stores so many files of memories I could never just throw away. A thing of plush has become part of my life, not as a toy but as a best friend and a family member. Almost every person has that special toy that became more than just an object. Teddy bears create comfort for the young and store memories for the old. These soft toys are often very treasured to us and can help us get through the hard

I remember it like it was yesterday… but it’s a good thing it wasn’t yesterday. . I was manufactured on June 27th, 1936 in California. I remember my first days, dreaming of who would pick me to be their Lotso Bear. I was sitting on the bland teddy aisle. A day went by. Then another. And another. Weeks went by. Then months. Not one single person had come down this isle. I waited. At night, we could get up, stretch, talk quietly, or SLEEP! I love sleep. You know, when you can recharge your cotton filling. That’s what we teddies have inside of us. Teddies came and went. I got new neighbors, and saw ages from one…

    Barbie doll

Society's idea to be attractive is to be nothing less than ideal. To lack perfection is not acceptable in society. Also society tells people how to dress and act, having people be and look a certain way to be accepted. The desire to be accepted can destroy ones’ self-esteem and many lose sight of their own true beauty. Many will do whatever it takes to not be, say, or do what society thinks is disturbing. Marge Piercy’s poem “Barbie Doll,” written in 1973, is a powerful poem about society’s pressure on a young woman. The name carries a lot of meaning because a Barbie doll has long been an icon in society. Although it is a children’s toy, a Barbie doll demonstrates a woman with a perfect body and pure beauty. The poem portrays a summary of a life since birth to the end of life at a funeral. The main character in the poem never has a chance to live life to the fullest because she is always trying to please others and be accepted, which leads to a life of unhappiness. Piercy uses form, diction, and imagery throughout the poem to help imagine the “perfect” woman in the eye of society and the price one may be willing to pay.…

In the book the little boy had an attachment to his toys like any other child would have. Children who read the book could also relate to the little boy who treasured his stuffed rabbit, being that in the 1920's many kids played with dolls and used their imagination. At that age like the little kids have a direct tie to an object that is dear to them, as the boy becomes attached to the bunny, the bunny becomes real. Similar to all kids alike even in the 1920's all kids carry large imaginations. Children playing with their toys and acting like their toys are coming to life in the real world may find appealing the same occurrence in the book.…

    My Values To Build-A-Bear

That seems like a rather older age to get a teddy bear right? Well my brother and father both pitched in to buy me this rather fluffy, soft, little bear when I was in the 7th grade, I do not remember the occasion but I remember being excited to go in to the store to pick out my own bear, getting to stuff it, choosing out the outfit, and getting to choose the gender and name for it. I chose a black bear, and she looks like a black bear, all black besides the snout that is a beige color. I chose to get her a black tank top that has strips across it in silver rhinestones and a skirt that has a zebra print and one strip of rhinestones on the bottom of it, and some little black heels that bring the whole outfit together. The last thing I got to do was name her, and her name is Jade. To this day I still have her in bed, every night I make sure she’s with me because I can’t sleep when I don’t have her. Iay sound silly since I am considered an “adult” but she means a lot to me considering both my brother and father chose to get her for me. Just as she has a lot of meaning to me, I have this portrait of my mother hanging in my room that is just as…
