People at some point in their lives will succumb to temptation even if they try to avoid it. Avoiding temptation can be difficult especially when facing the temptation of beauty. In the short story, “Winter Dreams”, written by Scott Fitzgerald, Dexter is attracted to the beauty of Judy Jones. Dexter says towards Judy, “ She wore a blue gingham dress, rimmed at throat and shoulders with a white edging… she was arrestingly beautiful.” Throughout the story Dexters emotions towards Judy change. He knows that Judy is getting with other men, but her beauty keeps tempting Dexter with her beauty.
