This technology has great benefit to many people to specially the adolescents. Adolescent are vulnerable or easily influence by new things that appear attractive one of those is the computer, especially the internet that provides information, entertainment are recreation. The technology itself is a tool for education; however the problem lies when the students use the gadgets in a wrong way. Many of today’s youth seem to find more enjoyment using the computer for various reasons but they seem to invest more time, money and effort in using computer for gaming, chatting and face book instead of using it for study purposes. As results, poor academic performance has been observed. Dinicola (2004) believe that the growth of the internet has impacted almost every facet of life in the United States and most developed countries. Therefore, pathological internet use (PIU) has become a growing area of concern, interest, research, and debate on the internet. It is a psychological dependence on the internet and has been characterized by an increasing investment of resources (time, energy, money etc.) in internet related activities, unpleasant feelings (anxiety, depression, emptiness.) when offline, it is an increasing tolerance to the effects of being online, and the denial of problematic behaviors.
