Media History Research Paper The Entertainment Industry has been an influence into society’s lives for many years now. It has been changing drastically and continuing to shine a light on what we think. Most would tell you that they don’t appreciate what it has to offer. This could be true in some sense, considering it has impacted the world in many different wonders. On a day by day basis we are learning from what we see on television as well as what we hear on the radio. It’s changing what we think and how we act towards each other. This business has been the highlight of people’s views on politics, family issues, relationships and many other aspects of life. As the industry continues to grow, more people are getting involved in learning about it. Entertainment is all around us, even when we are not in front of a television. It’s funny because we think we have more entertainment now then years ago, but we actually are just more aware of it. It took many years to get the entertainment industry up and running. There are many forms of entertainment that has been created. Musical, artistic, comedic, and so many more. While the idea of the entertainment industry was being thought out, it started small. One of the first forms of entertainment was sports. There are hundreds of different sports all over the world. Whether it be soccer, baseball, or the all American football it is still to this day of the biggest forms of entertainment. It brings joy to people to learn about their favorite teams and to get together and cheer them all on. Wrestling was one of the earliest sports around, according to the bible. Now football and baseball are probably the most popular. Sports bring entertainment because you are able to be interactive during them, and not just watch. It gives you the chance to be a part of the entertainment, part of the team. Sports have always been incorporated into most everything as well. One big

    Bartolomé De Las Casas utilizes the doctrine of the Just War Theory as a means to support his thesis by proving that the violence incited against the Indians during colonization is not justified because it violates divine authority, perpetuates evil by hurting the innocent and the weak on no account of any fault, and is completely unnecessary in the process of converting people to Christianity. First, he writes that the wars waged against the Indians violates the Just War Theory because it violates divine authority. In the first clause of the Just War Theory, it is stated that the authority of the ruler by whose command the war is to be waged is necessary for the justification of war. Bartolomé De Las Casas essentially says that the people in power, the ones who commanded the war to be waged against the Indians, do not have any authority to do so because it violates the very scripture of the Bible. He cites words from Christ himself to show that it is wrong to hurt the innocent and the weak. This leads to his second claim about the wars, which is that the violence is perpetuating evil because the Indians have no fault committed on their part against the Christians. Bartolomé De Las Casas states that by massacring innocent and defenseless people, and by separating and depriving people of their family members, the second and third clause of the Just War Theory is violated, not only because the attacked are not at fault, but also because the belligerent Christians do not have any rightful intention and commit actions counterproductive to spreading Christianity or God’s word. His final claim dealt with the flawed justification for the war, which is the idea that a prerequisite to spreading Christianity to non-believers is violent oppression of those people. You may love- or hate it, but one thing is for sure, you can't certainly ignore it. It’s appearing everywhere; in the radio, newspaper and magazines. Even when you are shopping in the supermarket, you can't avoid them. But what was it that made Talent shows so incredible large? You, or more exact the audience your a part of. Because as we all know, the Talent show industry isn't run by the will of for fill small little girls dreams or giving and old man a extra shoot in show business, but by the money its making on the audience. So as the audience that basically runs the industry, shouldn't we have some kind of responsibility for it? Of course we should, but sadly enough I think that not even half of us gives it a though. I think it has become a part of our culture, and there for widely accepted. Its just recently it appeared in the public debate. The main question there is, whether the concept is a dream or nightmare. If you ask me, I would say it is in-between. It depends on which perspective you see it from. If your point of view comes from the producers, the industry is like one of does dreams, which is to good to be truth. They can earn tons of money easy and fast. But if you see it more from the humane view, you start to notice some cracks in the dream. The shows lay an enormously press on the competition, which sometimes leads to nervous breakdown or other mental uncomfortable things.
