I look forward to joining theManagement & Organizational Studies program in the University of Waterloo. Waterloo will support me in developing my accounting knowledge and pursue my goal of becoming a chartered accountant which is extremely important to me as I have grown up in a family of accountants. Being 18, I believe I have a good mix of enthusiasm and energy in pursuing this goal and the ability to apply my existing knowledge. Growing up in Dubai has exposed me to cultural diversity, thus making it easier for me to adapt to the environment at Waterloo. I would like to find opportunities to work as an intern in an accounting firm which would further expose me to an accounting environment and I am constantly looking to attend any form of workshops available in order to improve my skills and learn new techniques. After my course at the University of Waterloo I would like to join a reputed accounting firm and obtain my chartered accountancy articleship.

Dubai has an annual competition for your entrepreneurs, the YEC (Young Entrepreneur Competition). I participated in 2011 and was the team leader. Being the leader of our team helped me become more aware of the difficulties involved in the business world. As part of our involvement we were required to conduct ourselves in a professional manner as we needed to follow accounting processes used in the corporate world. This exposure to some of the realities of the competitive nature of the business
