The terminally ill have many options. They have the Right to Try, which means the patients get the chance to try drugs not passed by federal testing. They also have the option of palliative care. Palliative care is patient and family centered care that focuses on easing suffering. Hospice is the palliative care given near the end of life. If their condition is very poor, they could choose acute medical care, which is palliative care in an acute setting. With acute care comes long term care. Palliative care is usually given in a long term care facility like a nursing home (Assisted Suicide Debate).
