Terrorism
Terrorism is a systemic use of violence to create a general climate of fear in a population and thereby to bring about a particular political objective. A terrorist behave like political, psychological, coercive, dynamic and deliberate. They produce widespread fear. They harass, weaken or embarrass government security forces that the government overreacts and appears repressive. There are five types of terrorism: state terrorism; Bioterrorism; Cyberterrorism; Ecoterrorism: and Nuclear Terrorism.
The war between China and Philippines about the Scarborough Shoal can be identified as an example close having of State Terrorism. China threatened the Philippine Navy and Coast guards by their giant ships and equipments that are military don’t have. Thee shoal is a tiny set of rocks and islets in the South China sea 230 km (140 miles) east of Luzon and 1200 km from the nearest major Chinese Landmass. Based on this measurement, Scarborough Shoal is nearer in the Philippines than in China but still; China uses their aggressiveness to terrorize the Philippines.
Thanks for the help of US army that protects Philippines from harming by the other state. United Nations is very useful in order to produce a peaceful world. But as a Filipino, we must not be dependent with other countries.
According to UNESCO, “Violence begins from the mind”. It must, therefore, be uprooted from the mind itself. This goes directly to the root cause of terrorism. Therefore, in order to eliminate this root cause we need to initiate our efforts by beginning from the right starting point. And this starting point is the re-engineering of minds of individuals by taking them away from the culture of violence and bringing them closer to the culture of
