When you see a person smoking cigarettes they often do not look like the happiest or nicest people. Some even steer clear of people who are smoking. From the smoke spiraling out of the top of the cigarette or “building” you can tell they are going fast. This could be because of how fast it took the fires and smoke to take down the Towers. It took just 1.02 hours for the Towers to collapse (Clifton). This could symbolize how fast it takes the 4,000 toxins that are in cigarettes to put a toll on our lungs. On average it takes two to nine months in order for your lungs to start turning black when we are a user of smoke tobacco (“Smoking and Your Lungs”). Nearly 2,000 people die a day from smoking (“Chronic Disease”). That is over 443,000 people a year. On the other hand, you have how many people died in the tragic terrorist attack of 9/11 which is nearly 3,000 people in one day. The lungs of people smoking are going up in flames as fast as the World Trade Center towers
