Maturity is the ability of being able to keep your cool regardless to what happens, and to let the proper authority handle situations like harassment, after all it takes the bigger man to walk away. However as the bigger man walks away, it is important to stand up for yourself and your family when the need calls for you, there's no shame in protecting what's right. Being independent and able to function on your own is a sure sign of maturity as you lack the need for other's help. Having Morals or an honor code to live by is also mature as you set standards for yourself, not allowing simple things to set you off.
