The “journey to be oneself” seems to be the riskiest of all journeys is because we don’t know who we really are and most of us are too scared to truly find out who we are. They say that when we judge others it is because we have the same defectiveness, but are too naïve or to blind to notice it. This would be an excellent explanation to why many people can’t sit in a room by themselves quietly or meditating without them freaking out. It is the silence that scares us the most because that is when we ask ourselves questions about ourselves and we’re not sure if we feel confident to be honest. The journey to be oneself seems to be the trickiest because what if you don’t like yourself? Sound ridiculous but we are in an era where if you don’t look a certain way, you may not be worth knowing. Another example of why it seems to be the trickiest journey is because we don’t really know who we are and many do not have the confidence to try to meet themselves. So this is why the “journey to be oneself” seems to be the riskiest of all journeys.
The risk that lies ahead as I embark on my college career is basically taking my own risks in general. Many are used to having parent take the risks for them but now as I embark college, I have to take risks all on my own. It is a matter between standing tall or my face falling flat on the ground. The biggest risk I am taking right now as I embark my college career is choosing
