B. Communication
Communications media, whether pen and paper, text messages, Facebook or Twitter, can exacerbate the perils of teenage life. But the social media of today’s generation have the potential to amplify the anxieties of yesterday’s communications media did not — by adding photos and videos to words, giving a chance to the whole community to comment on what is seen or heard online, or by keeping a permanent record of all interactions being done.
Teenagers access social media sites to make social plans with their friends, or even sometimes to flirt. Teenagers are most likely to create at least a basic profile with their name, age, status, photos and interests, but many go on much further.
