The first reason why I think The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel should be required is because of its imaginary plot. Many fiction books have similar plots to books with the same topic such as dystopia novels. The novels Killer of Enemies and The Hunger Games have similar ideas such as a powerful goverments, a fight for survival, and monsterous genetically modified organisms. The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel has a unique plot with its own history of earth streching back million of years. The book also contains a imaginary combination of science, magic, and technology including magical auras, genetically engineer boar people, and the strange chemistry of the elixir of immortal life. This book while fiction does contain real people and includes real historical facts on these people such as Nicholas Flamel a real life alchemist, or John Dee, an English spymaster. This book makes history real and has increased my own interest in history. This is my other reason why I think this book should be a required
