A book called “Mindset” by Carol S. Dweck talks about how there are two types of mindsets a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. She explains that ‘“a fixed mindset places undue importance on appearances — looking talented or “smart” at all costs and with very little apparent effort — whereas a growth mindset focuses on continual learning and improving”’ (Stanford.edu). As you can see the two different types of mindsets focus on two completely different things, while one does not want to use much effort while the other is striving to improve themselves and try their hardest to achieve their dreams. She also explains how “it’s not always the people who start out the smartest who end up the smartest, effortless achievement may result in high marks initially, but fails when faced with challenge” (Stanford.edu).
