The Amperometric Response Of Ag/Zsm-5/CPE
Fig. 7A displays the amperometric response of Ag/ZSM-5/CPE with successive injection of OA into a stirred solution of 0.1 M NaHPO4 pH= 2 recorded at the potential of 0.73 V vs. Ag|AgCl in the concentration ranges from 16 μM to 4.0 mM. It can be seen that the aerometric current increases clearly after each injection of OA. Fabricated sensor displays the rapid response towards change in the concentration of OA which reaches a steady state within 2 s by applying the potential of 0.73 V to Ag/ZSM-5/CPE. A calibration plot of the amperometric current response versus oxalic acid concentration is displayed in Fig. 7B.

Results show that Ag/ZSM-5/CPE electrode can detect OA in linear ranges of 16 μM–0.18 mM and 0.18 mM–4.0 mM with a detection

Ag/ZSM-5/CPE indicates an immediate amperometric response toward the addition of 0.2 mΜ OA, whereas no remarkable effect was observed for the 50-fold excess concentration of possible interferrants such as ethylene glycol (E.G) (CH2OH-CH2OH), glyoxylic acid (GA) (CHO-COOH), dimethyl oxalate (DO) (CH3OOC-COOCH3) and glycolic acid (CH2OH-COOH) (Fig. 8A). However, a considerable response was observed after further addition of 0.2 mM OA into the solution containing of interferences. These results show that this sensor has high selectivity toward OA. Also, another interfererants such as ascorbic acid, tyrosine and uric acid may be interferences for the detection of OA at the Ag/ZSM-5/CPE. In order to investigate the influence of these the interferences, 0.2 mM of each species was added in solution containing of 0.1 M NaHPO4 pH= 2 buffer solution in presence of 0.2 mM of OA, and the amperometric response of sensor is displayed in Fig. 8B. It can be observed in Fig. 8B that these species had no significant effect on the amperometric response of OA. The obtained results confirm that mentioned compounds do not display interference

Label-free biosensors is a technology that uses biological and or chemical indicators to discover molecules in a sample. They give detailed information on the selective, kinship, and also the necessary groupings of an interaction. With Electrochemical biosensors the same result is identified but a different technology. The DNA is introduced to a transducer which allows an electronic signal to be created that can be processed as an output to provide the information required. (Frew, Hill. 1987)…

The experiment is separated into two sections involving different solvent conditions, which include acetone and cyclohexane. A stock solution of 3.0 mM SP in acetone was prepared and diluted to 100 mL of 0.30 mM SP. In addition, a stock solution of 0.1 M TFA in acetone was prepared prior to the experiment. From the stock solutions, a four samples were made with varying SP concentrations ranging from 0.05 and 0.30 mM. Further, four SP samples were prepared with the addition increasing TFA concentration. For each solution, we used a UV light source to generate MC in the solution and waited for the sample to turn into a different color.…

The experiment began by adding 50 mL of phosphate buffer solution (pH 6.77) in a 150 mL beaker. Once the appropriate amount of phosphate buffer was measured, exactly 20 drops of 0.04% bromothymol blue was placed in the buffer solution. A serological pipet was then used to fill three 50 mL beakers with 5 mL of solution. Approximately 1 mL of HCl, NaOH, and H2O were distributed into each of the three beakers. The yellow solution was labeled HCl, the green solution was labeled H2O and the blue solution was labeled NaOH. To measure the absorbance level, a spectrometer had to be setup and calibrated. While the spectrometer was being prepared, the solutions were placed into three separate cuvettes. Each cuvette was then whipped clean to allow an…

Abstract: The purpose of this lab was to use potentiometry to measure the concentration of a specific chemical species in a solution. This was conducted in 2 stages. The first stage involved making a solution of potassium iodide. The potassium iodide was then diluted to several different concentrations that were ran in potentiometer to find the mV of each solution which would then be used to find the PH of the solution. After analyzing a sample of each concentration an unknown solution was compared. Along with the the unknown tap water and deionized water were tested as standards.…

An oxygen sensor, or lambda sensor, is an electronic device that measures the proportion of oxygen (O2) in the gas or liquid being analyzed. It was developed by Robert Bosch GmbH during the late 1960s under supervision by Dr. Günter Bauman. The original sensing element is made with a thimble-shaped zirconia ceramic coated on both the exhaust and reference sides with a thin layer of platinum and comes in both heated and unheated forms.…
