The Ancient Era's Common Definition Of Creativity

Millennia have passed by since human beings first walked the earth, and since that initial day the population has skyrocketed from one to seven billion people. With that exponential increase, our meaning of creativity is evolving from its generic definition to a new and improved one. The Ancient Era’s common definition of creativity still is used in the minds of today’s older generations; “Creativity is the ability to come up with original ideas related to problem solving or product development.” Creativity was common, making technologies including the wheel and irrigation seem god-like, as we saw in the worship of Yu the Great of the Xia dynasty who creatively harnessed the Yangtze river's floods. As our population multiplied from this generation, this definition is becoming as outdated as the phones and computers that were once seen as creative ideas.
Therefore, the new definition of creativity is being brought to light, “Creativity is the ability to come up with ideas that are different than normal, and are typically recycled from previous generations.”The most renowned example of this definition is seen in the Apple and Microsoft inventions. Rather than introduce many new ideas that nobody could have dreamed of, these corporations are taking products we have already purchased and turning them into thinner, faster, and sleeker
