Beyond Earth
When we were little, we got told about different things about our solar system. The belief of such greatness to lie outside of the Earth is almost unbelievable. As for myself, I have never really thought of the outside world because I have been so caught up on real life moments that are portrayed as normal such as studying and working. Learning about other planets and other great wonders that happen so many kilometers away is now more than ever mesmerizing than when I was a little girl. Now, it is not only about the Sun, Moon, and Stars, but also about other great wonders across space such as comets, geysers, planets, and many moons. It is fascinating how the universe has many large and small planets with so many differences in structure but yet has so many similarities as to have been being built.
From a documentary series, The Planets, the first episode is like a starter of planets and different theories that have been formed based on many years of observation. The Earth as well as other planets and moons were formed from a gaseous atmosphere and slow accumulation. Once the accumulation got greater, collisions became stronger and faster. A comparison was established to make it seem like the universe was a juvenile at play. This makes sense because a juvenile is defined as a young human. A young human then would be careless and makes decisions instantaneously without thinking about outcomes or possibilities of effects such as what the accumulations where doing. The main evidence of this massive collision is the fact that many planets and moons have craters. Craters are the effect of asteroids, meteorites, comets, etc. that has stricken the planets or moons. Craters have left a circular hole in the stricken area to where the collision has happened. For example, in the state of Texas, a crater by the name of Odessa was created by a meteorite collision with the Earth. From this documentary episode, I wish to learn more
