The artifact symbolizes the subculture because it represents the individuals who spend their hard earned money on an overpriced caffeinated drink but, fills an empty void of temporary pleasure and acceptance. The coffee establishment has various types of drinks and flavors of coffee that appeal to every type of individual. The various drinks provide temporary pleasure through the taste, smell and even the look of the drink. An individual can walk into the store and have no knowledge of coffee but feel like a connoisseur when ordering a drink. This may make an individual feel accepted by individuals who drink from this establishment instead of another well known inexpensive franchise.

was the pattern of isolation. Although this establishment is filled with many individuals, it is ironic how most individuals isolate themselves by wearing headphones, using a computer, a phone and tuning the background noise to focus on their work.
