The director/writers of the film wanted to depict just how greedy and controlling developed nations can be towards undeveloped nations. In the real world this is currently happening with the US and UN trying to change cultures and customs in different nations thinking that they’re looking for what’s in their best interest. In the film the humans did the same thing with the Na’vi people, they invaded their planet, cut down their trees, and built structures on their lands. They also thought they could “sophisticate” these people by building them school and teaching them English. The director depicted human greed very accurately, in the movie the US government invaded and attempted to destroy the planet Pandora Unobtanium.
Genetically modified organisms are both here and in the film, but in the film it is much more advanced than what we can do in reality. In The Avatar people scientist were able to make …show more content…
carbon copies of the Na’vi (The Natives of planet Pandora) people and use machines to control and live as these creations. While in real life we can do what most people would consider “extraordinary” (like being able to clone things for example) but being able to control/live as an animal on IRL (In real life) is impossible and unrealistic.
Unlike humans (In the movie and IRL) the Na’vi understood just how important the flow of energy was to their survival and their planet’s survival. While we humans on Earth destroy solely for the sake of a more comfortable lifestyle, the Na’vi co-exist with their trees, animals, and landscapes. They believe the more “green” they have on their planet the happier their “mother” will be and the longer they can, and will survive.
Depending on how much it benefits us humans we can/will kill off any animal species.
Animals such as West African Black Rhinoceros, Pyrenean Ibex, Passenger Pigeon, Quagga, Tasmanian Tiger, and Dodo birds all fell victim to human greed and desires. The same way the Na’vi co-exist with their “green” they do the same with animals on their planet. When Jake had a glowing bug on him his instinct was to smash it ( He’s used to the bugs on Earth being a nuisance so…) He was then quickly stopped by Natiri who cared for a freed the bug. She also intentionally saved a pack of wolfs from death while saving Jake from that same pack of wolfs. When an animal is killed by a Na’vi their custom is to do some prayer for them, showing just how much they care for other species as well as their
own.
A keystone species on Earth is a species that others in that ecosystem depend on, On the planet Pandora they have the same thing, but instead of a specific species being the head of their ecosystem, the mystic trees are the head of the entire planet. When one of the trees were cut down and blown up by the “sky people” all the wildlife in the area surrounding the tree died almost instantly.
