The baby boomer’s generation is one of the largest and with their busy schedules there is little time to focus on their lifestyle. Many companies have created services to assist with this although they have not hit this generations ideal interests. A new business that would improve and benefit the baby boomers would be a healthy lifestyle bracelet, similar to a Fitbit. It would be the same idea but serve more purpose then the original fit bit. The vision of this service would be a bracelet with high tech features, including access to check your email, track your health and wear it fashionably.

Other than tracking your steps it would help with watching your health, such as blood sugar. It would have a second flashing light to remind you when you don’t have enough steps in for the day or week. This would motivate them to work out more and stay healthy. Having long hours at work gets busy and sometimes you forget to take care of yourself, hopefully this bracelet will help this problem and encourage and support the consumers to get more activity in for the day.
Overall, the idea of the healthy lifestyle bracelet will help the baby boomers in the professional career live a healthier lifestyle, with features involving their social life, style, and health. If a business or corporation were to launch this product to consumers it would be of high profit and improve many lifestyles. It would be sold at an affordable price that way it is accessible to a wider range of adults and there would be no excuse not to be living a healthy lifestyle. This bracelet will help balance out all the aspects involved in this generations day to day

America is growing old fast. Approximately 10% of our country is currently 60 years or older and by 2050 nearly a fourth of our citizens will be elderly (Kaplan et al., 2008). This presents a specific category of Americans with unique challenges. In a comprehensive review of research from 1978 through 2005, it was determined that only one third of the elderly are considered to be successful agers (Kaplan et al., 2008). This means two thirds of our elderly are struggling with the aging process. Society is obligated to address the needs associated with this struggling group that will assist them in living healthy well-adjusted lives. It is in everyone’s best interest to facilitate their independence and allow them to continue to contribute to society in a productive way rather than become a burden that requires limited resources to manage. Understanding risk factors and protective mechanisms used by elderly individuals that have achieved successful aging can help design preventative practices that will enable similar beneficial outcomes.…

The market for health care services will increase with the ageing of the societies and because the ageing process will not stop, the health care market and hospitals will have to adapt to the changes of their patients. The health of older Americans is improving. Still, many are disabled and suffer from chronic conditions needing a longer recovery time, temporary assistance and support to take care of themselves (Mierla_Florina, 2008). Since the ageing population will require focusing on these chronic diseases, the style of medicine will be required to change to correct the ongoing management of theses disease and disabilities. With these chronic illnesses long term care services such as nursing homes, home health, personal care and adult day care will become important sources of care ((Wiener & Tilly, 2002).…

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic illness, such as obesity, heart disease, and cancer are among the most common and costly health problems associated with the elderly, they are also among the most preventable (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010). Because chronic diseases are the driven force behind the increase in health care and prescription cost for the elderly, programs such as wellness and chronic disease management programs can help reduce health care cost tremendously. In addition, preventive care and wellness programs give individuals the advantage to complete basic daily activities they otherwise may not be able to do because of illness, chronic disease, or injury. These can limit physical and mental abilities of older adults which can make it harder for the elderly to remain at home.…
