Previous to the reaction, the magnesium appeared to be a solid, white, black, and grey substance with many small dark particles within the substance. The hydrochloric acid was a clear liquid that looked like water It weighed 42.2 grams in total. During the reaction, the two substances produced bubbles, creating smoke and became warm with a smell that is irritating to the human nose. After the reaction, it appeared to be a clear, bubbly liquid with white spots. It weighed 42.2 grams in total after the reaction. The creation of bubbles, the different smell, and the increase in temperature told me that a chemical reaction occurred within the substance.…

The purpose of the Density Lab was to determine the identity of four unknown solids and two unknown liquids by calculating their densities and comparing them to a density chart, taking into account error analysis and finally classifying the substances. In order to calculate this density, we first found the mass of the container that was to be holding the substances. We then found the volume of the substance, and lastly determined the mass of the container and substance. We subtracted (Container + Substance) – Container to find the mass of simply the substance. In order to distinguish density, we took the final mass divided by the volume, and identified the substances based on Density Charts we found online. Originally we hypothesized that we would be able to identify these substances based on the densities we calculated, yet this proved to be harder than it seemed, however our hypothesis was correct. We now could concluded the densities and identification. The density of Unknown Liquid 1 was 1.26 which was found to be Colorless Glycerin (also density of 1.26) and Unknown Liquid 2 was 0.88 or Rubbing Alcohol (colorless). Unknown Solid 1 has a density of 7.20 or Iron, Solid 2 is 2.59 and Aluminum, Solid 3 is 5.47 and Tin, while Solid 4 has a density of 9.81and Nickel? We…
In the bottle rocket lab, our rocket was able to achieve lift off after filling it with water and compressed air. We estimated that our rocket went thirteen and one half meters into the air for an awesome six seconds. When we launched our rocket, it followed a parabolic arch from the launch pad to the landing area. As our rocket was flying through the air, it maintained its stability through the air due to the fins that were on the side of the rocket which helped to push the air in an even streamlined path behind the tail of the rocket. Our rocket came second in height achieved and furthest in distance displaced.…
Andy Warhol constructed the painting ‘32 Campbell’s Soup Cans’ in early 1962. Alongside the exclusive frames all placed flush relative to each other. Additionally, each enclosed structure is approximately 20 inches by 16 inches. Piece by piece, the Campbell’s Soup Cans Andy individually painted received a different assortment of flavor, the top left corner coordinates with a tomato soup can thoroughly to the bottom right corner ending with turkey vegetable soup. Correspondingly, the series of Campbell’s soup cans exposes each type of soup. Andy painted the cans from an elevated front facing view. Provided that, two dented metal rings define the top portion of the bare metal can. The top half of each Campbell’s Soup can is colored red, while the bottom half of the can is a plain white color. Each word printed on the label on the can is in a different font. The word ‘Campbell’s’ illustrated in large white cursive. Underneath the Campbell’s word, but still on the top red portion of the can designed in a capital bold text reading ‘CONDENSED’. Between the bottom and top of the can is a brown circle representing the distinct stamp of the Campbell’s Company. Andy Warhol painted the circle, but left out the details within the brown stamp. In addition, the white bottom half of the can represents the type of soup written in a…
A team of scientists having discovered a fossil specimen near Liaoning Province, China. Our goal is to observe the physical structure of this fossil and determine the most likely placement of the fossil species in a cladogram. After careful examination of the fossil we notice some traits that could assist us in the classification of the species. For instance, it seems to have a vertebrae and what seems to be wing like extensions from its body. We therefore form the hypothesis that the gene of interest might belong to the bird group of the cladogram. To aid us in the classification we are given the gene sequence of 3 other species in which share similarities with the gene of interest:…
