Air pollution is a type of pollution that particulates made by human being activities or natural causes were brought into the Earth’s atmosphere. When it achieves to sufficient concentration and adequate time, it begins to endanger people’s comfort, health, welfare, even damage to the environment that we live. Atmosphere is a mixture. It’s a mixture of Nitrogen (78.08%), Oxygen (20.94%), Rare gases (0.93%), Carbon dioxide (0.03%) and Other gases and impurities (0.02%). Spontaneous change may cause the change of the ingredients of the atmosphere, such as volcanic eruption, forest fire and so on. But these changes are local and temporary. However, with the development of modern industry and the transportation, pollutants emissions become more and more. These make the ingredients change rapidly so that the atmosphere becomes worse and worse. Air pollution is the pollution can make people live with huge danger and bad moods. In cities, the largest source air of pollution comes from burning fossil fuels. Cars, heavy duty trucks, trains, airplanes, shipping vessels all burn a large amount of fossil fuels to work. Emissions from vehicles contain many pollutants. Dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen which are released by vehicles may cause great harm to people. It can cause irritation of the throat, nose and eyes. It can also cause breathing problems such as asthma and bronchitis.
Air pollution was also caused by Chemicals and toxic pollutants. These pollutants come from many industrial or manufacturing plants. For making a faster composite development, countries are paying more attention on the development on the chemical processing. But at the same time, people pay less attention on the environmental governance. The effect is sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide are released to the air, reacting with the water in the air and produce acid rain. Acid rain can kill plants and hurt animals and other wildlife when acid rain falls over an area. Acid rain also changes the chemistry of the lacks or streams.
Another cause of the air pollution is household and farming chemicals. These things, as a crop dusting, fumigating homes, household cleaning products or painting supplies, are also play important role in our lives. We can’t live a better life without them. We can’t enjoy our interests without them. However, these fertilizer dust emit harmful chemicals into the air and then cause the air pollution. We will fall ill if we use these chemicals at home or somewhere not far from us. Besides the the disease of respiratory system, we may also suffer from the disease of heart. Polluted air increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, breathing air like this may make us suffer from triggering cardiac arrhythmia or even a heart attack.
In conclusion, air pollution is a kind of pollution that we must keep one eye on it! It is closely related with our lives. We breathe what we breathe, we live what we live. Air pollution is caused by burning fossil fuels, chemicals and toxic pollutants come from industrial and household and farming chemicals. It makes people breathing polluted air, living with the death. Word Count: 513 words

Since the industry revolution, environmental pollution has gradually become a global problem. It has looks set to hog the limelight in the century. Almost all the countries suffer from such problems and are struggling to keep their heads over the water. Air pollution is something in the air that causes harm to humans or the environment. There are many different forms of air pollutants and these are broken down further into primary and secondary pollutants. A primary pollutant is something that stems directly from a source such as volcanic ash or vehicle emissions. A secondary pollutant forms when two pollutants react in the atmosphere such as acid rain.…

Air pollution is the initiation of chemicals, particulate matter, or biological materials that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or damages the natural environment into the atmosphere. Air pollution occurs when the air contains gases, fumes, dust, or other harmful agents. According to Morgan (2003), air pollution was not a problem until the 19th century and Industrial Revolution because pollution was readily diluted in the atmosphere (Morgan, Environmental Health, 2003, p. 247). Air pollution occurs in many forms but can generally be thought of as gaseous and particulate contaminants that are present in the earth 's atmosphere (Air Pollution - Its Nature, Sources, and Effects, 2013). Natural sources of air pollution include forest fires, dust storms, and volcanic eruptions (Morgan, Environmental Health, 2003, p. 249).…

Over the past month I have been in China, it has been impossible for me to go outside without having a respirator attached to my face. Why? Because of the extreme air pollution that blankets most of China. Because of China's air pollution that has been a constant problem over the past few decades and has been making living in China “uncomfortable”. The air pollution has several effects including declining public health and up to 1.6 million deaths per year. That is about 4383 deaths per day, 1.4 times the number of casualties on 9/11. The reasons for death from air pollution includes lung cancer and breathing difficulties The pollution has been caused from coal burning, tailpipe exhaust, factory pollution, dust, aerosols and waste incineration…

China has a booming vehicle market that attracts drivers. Louise Watt, a writer for The Huffington Post News online, discusses the growing population of vehicles as the major problem of air pollution. Watt acknowledges that “with more than 13 million cars sold in China last year, motor vehicles have emerged as the chief culprit for the throat-choking air pollution in big cities, especially Beijing…” As the economy revolutionizes Beijing, millions of people can now afford vehicles. In her article, Watt mentions Gao Fei, an owner of a Buick, who says “To be honest, the more the air is polluted, the more I prefer to drive, as I don't like taking a crowded bus or walking outside in such bad air.” Gao is more concerned about his own convenience…

Market Failure is when there is a misallocation of resources. When there is a misallocation of resources, de-merit goods (goods and services whose consumption is considered unhealthy, degrading or otherwise socially undesirable) have been overproduced and priced inappropriately not accounting for external costs to the third party. In this case the external cost is air pollution in Beijing, which has caused damage to the environment and health. The main source of this negative externality came from over production of multiple products and car emissions, which has in turn made Beijing one of the most polluted cities in the world. Without a proper price or regulations being placed the negative impacts of this market failure has not been paid for. This failure is caused by both free market failure and government failure alike due to the lack of intervention. There are solutions that once implemented may be able to undo or prevent further air pollution in Beijing. With Beijing being the capital of one of the major economies of the world it will be difficult to reduce the amount of emissions with government fixated on production mainly consisting of coal burning as fuel as well as many people relying on vehicles to commute to work every day.…

When people think about air pollution, the things that come to their mind are smog, acid rain, and other forms of outdoor air pollution. Air Pollution is not a new topic. It is a problem that we have noticed since the industrial revolution, when trees, houses and cars were covered in soot from the factories. Every year, chemical substances present in the air within buildings affect the healths of thousands of people. The definition of air pollution is "The presence in the atmosphere of one or more contaminants as is injurious, or tends to be injurious, to human health or welfare, animal or plantlife."Ozone, a gas, is a major part of air pollution in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it's also called smog. Air pollution are the leading cause of death in China. Acid rain falls on 30% of the country. The World Health Organization has found that about 750,000 people die prematurely each year from respiratory problems in China.…

In the last two decades, the air pollution in China has increased substantially. The lack of good air quality is especially prominent in the more urban, industrialized areas of China. Environment Minister Zhou Shengxian warned, “If China meant to quadruple the size of its economy over 20 years without more damage, it would have to become more efficient in resource use. Otherwise, there would be a painful price to pay” (BBC News). The topic of air pollution is not a new concern to the world; however, the effects of air pollution, especially to the hundred of thousands of people directly or indirectly harmed by the side effects of “bad air,” should be of grave concern. According to the Ministry of Health, air pollution has made cancer the leading cost of death in China. Air pollution not only affects the people, but also the quality of fresh water, produce, and other natural resources. These kinds of environmental outcomes may seem erratic in other countries but unfortunately, it has become the norm in China. In fact, air pollution in China since the 1980’s has gotten so bad that many of the industrialized areas in Beijing and Shanghai rarely see the sun but rather clouds of smoke and fog. China, with its infamous reputation of becoming a global economic powerhouse, is ironically becoming its own downfall. In the midst of their tremendous economic and industrial growth, the energy outputs to support this growth are reaching an all-time high which means there is more residue of coal and fuel burning released in the atmosphere. In order to understand the extent of pollution in China, one must understand the environmental, social, and political aspects of it.…

As previously mentioned both countries have continued to become industrialized and urbanized with a nearly uncontrollable population growth. Nevertheless, air pollution continues to be an issue in today’s society. Air pollution can be caused by a number of different factors. Manufacturing industries release large amounts of monoxide, hydrocarbons, organic compounds and a number of chemicals into the air, which depletes the air quality. Mining operations have also affected the quality air as well. It is a process in which minerals below the earth’s surface are extracted using large equipment. During this process dust and chemicals are released causing air pollution. This is one of the major causes for diminishing health conditions of factory and nearby…

The moment you step out of the house and are on the road you can actually see the air getting polluted. A cloud of exhaust from a truck, smoke filling the sky above a factory chimney, fly ash generated by thermal power plants, and even a cloud of dust behind a speeding car can pollute the air. Air pollution is aggravated because of four developments: increasing traffic, growing cities, rapid economic development, and industrialization. Natural phenomenon such as an erupting volcano or even someone smoking a cigarette can also cause air pollution. The major air pollutants are acid rain, smog, fly ash, and indoor air pollutants.…
