Abstract
Regardless of the success of your company on a national scale, to engage yourself in a successful venture outside of your borders requires several critical elements that one must acknowledge and apply with great care. One of those requirements would be to thoroughly research the cultural environment in which you wish to launch your product no matter how popular and indispensable you believe it might be. In the past, many national giants have hit the wall when introducing a foreign market or launching a new marketing campaign because of the cultural gap they encountered on the other side of their borders. Another way of preventing a flop on an international market is to carefully study the economical past of this country, which might differ quite a bit from the one the company flourished in. In addition to the previous precautions, it Would be advise to make sure that your product will blend seamlessly within the spending habits of the consumers. Overall, meticulous market studies and patience often constitute the way to success on a foreign soil.

The Challenges of
International Marketing

Despite the facts that many of the most powerful markets on the planet operate within the capitalistic principle of free trade. Despite the fact that Western Europe is now border-free within its bounds and uses the same common currency. And despite the fact that the USSR ‘s Iron Curtain has fallen more than a decade ago, the people of this world have never expressed their need to belong to a national identity as much as they do today. In response to international organized terrorism, mass media and political pressure, the average consumer today is looking for security, truth, and for a product tailored to his need. A product that reflects the international society we live in today but also carries the cultural identity of the consumer buying it. Or at least carries one

“Masters of Desire” Jack Solomon’s essay “Masters of Desire: The Culture of American Advertising” centers around the American advertisement and processes that are dominated in this sphere. The author says experts build their strategies on the duality of the American dream: “[it] has two faces: the one communally egalitarian and the other competitively elitist” (Solomon 167). When the advertisement is focused on the local market, it often tries to show the audience that it will be able to rise above the crowd with the aid of the mentioned product. Companies use other strategy of becoming close with the society on foreign markets. These choices changes depending on brands or periods of time.…

Gun violence in America is not at all as bad as it is in Sierra Leone and other countries with war and little law enforcement as we read about in the book a long way gone. In the book the main character Ishmael discovers that America is not at all like he heard through rap songs. When he moves to America and tells his story of being a soldier and killing people the people he talks to about it think that it is cool and Ishmael states in the book “violence in America is romanticized. I do agree with this statement that we do make war look easy and fun through movies and video games. We do not understand what it is like to be in a war and witness killing and bloodshed every day.…

Branding, pricing, and distribution are all integral parts of a strategic marketing plan. Each segment of the plan needs to be developed individually with the entire culmination of the plan in mind. In other words, each segment should be a link in the chain to a completed marketing strategy. The ultimate goal is to reach a successful culmination of all three tiers that will have a successful impact in introducing the brand, pricing it correctly, and forming a distribution model that will maximize the competitive advantage to the company or service in question. This report will outline the steps in developing a local branding outline as well as an international branding strategy .The idea behind branding is to differentiate your product, value, quality or service from your competitors, and make it more readily identifiable to the end user. There are at least four questions that need to be asked before implementing a branding strategy. The first of course is whether to brand the product vs, a no brand decision. The second decision would be to use a manufacturers brand vs. a private label strategy. The third question entails whether to go with a single brand vs. multiple brands. The final decision is to decide whether to brand in a local market or a global market or a combination of both. Branding in a global market is much more complicated than branding in a local market. When branding in a global market. Culture becomes a major consideration. It is generally wise to chose countries that have similar or closely related cultures and, or language skills to expand your brand globally. International marketing is the last frontier of the marketing discipline. International marketing is yet to be fully explored but is being increasingly tested to reach an ever growing sea of future consumers.…

There are several ways that language of advertising differs from other kinds of language. Language of advertising is always simple and short because people do not have the patient to think and listen to a long and complicated advertisement. Also, using simple language also can help advertisers to target to variety groups of people. For example applying the Fox Index equation, we can tell which group of people (with different age and education level) can understand the advertisement. Not only do language of advertising is simple and short, but also it repeats a lot. According to Answer.Com, “the average person needs to hear something twenty times before they truly learn it.” The advertisers want their slogan to play repetitively in consumer’s mind and convince people to use their service or buy their products. Advertisements also use well-known celebrities to represent their products, so people can relate themselves more to the products because people want to be as famous and beauty as those celebrities. Another characteristic of language of advertising that I can think of is that it use ethos and pathos appeal more than logical appeal. In other words, advertisements try to move people emotional with stories and other…

The main aspect of advertising is to ‘get more bang for the buck’, to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye and gain the viewer’s attention. Throughout the years, advertising has varied in many ways from catchy slogans to iconic logos. Some may say there is nothing wrong with a little healthy competition, but what if one area is gaining the benefits slightly different than the others because of their boldness? American and European advertising are very different culturally as well as aesthetically. There has always been a cultural difference in the style of advertising between America and Europe, whether it is sexual content, trend or originality. A striking boldness seems to be a trending approach in Europe, while classic reason takes a hold of America. Researchers have said that one main difference between American and European advertisements is that European ads use emotional blackmailing while American ads reason for you. Both European and American advertising benefit in marketing, it is simply just a matter of effectiveness based on the audience.…

Our primary objective is to critically explore contemporary advertising, as it connects to larger questions of society and culture. Our focus will NOT be on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the advertising industry, nor will the course teach you how to create advertising campaigns, or how to design marketing strategies. Instead, we will draw upon different critical theories and empirical research methods, as a means of reflecting upon the broader social and cultural dimensions of advertising.…

“Culture is little like dropping an Alka-Seltzer into a glass-you don’t see it, but somehow it does something.’’ Hans Magnus Enzensberger. American and French commercials are very different yet similar. The American commercials are very straight forward and succinct. On the other hand, the french commercials are very unique and modern. The Americans uses straight forward advertisements, when the french uses more poetic advertisments. The Americans and the French both use convincing strategies towards the audience.…
