The Committer vs. the Non-Committer
The Committer vs. the Non-Committer There are many types of men in the world, and each type displays a variety of distinguishable characteristics. Women should become aware of these characteristics before considering a prospective mate. There are two main types of men in the world, the committer and the non-committer. There are many differences between these two types of men. The main differences between the committer and non-committer are the way they find woman, the automobile they drive and their career.
The most notable difference between these two kinds of men is their way of finding woman. The committer is serious about finding the right woman. He asks friends and relatives for introductions. He is usually open to blind dates and avoids the bar scene when looking for a quality woman. On the first date, he is polite and will not bring up the subject of money at the restaurant. He takes her to places where they can talk one-on-one. The non-committer is just looking for a woman. There is no room in his life for the woman. He, on the other hand, loves the bar scene. He usually finds a million excuses why he can't find the right woman and uses such excuses to explain why he is still unattached. On a date, he orders trendy food such as sushi to impress his date, and he monopolizes the conversation. He may even take her to places where there is no chance for good conversation such as a club or a party. Yet another difference between these two types of men is the automobile they drive. The committer drives a family car. For example, he likes Jeeps, Explorers, and Japanese-made cars because of their proven resale value and uncompromising dependability. The non-committer is all too obvious when it comes to his automobile. He drives a flashy vehicle such as a Porsche, Corvette, BMW, or Ferrari. Each type is reflected in the vehicle chosen. In addition, comparing the differences of two types of men, we can found another difference. They are

In the article ”The Mystery of Sensitive Men and Spock-Logic Women”, Charles R. Martin explains that gendered behaviors, thinking-feeling preference are personalities, not gender qualities. People read books about male-female communication differences but did not often find descriptions that match their gender appearances. The author states that people usually think men are thinking type and women are feeling type. In contrast, studies showed that the thinking-feeling type is more related to personal communicating preference than gender. Thinking females and feeling males can both exist. The only thing people need to do is being themselves.…

These two brief descriptions for two different persons in are in contrast with each other. Guys vs Men

I felt that Dave Barry’s “Guys vs. Men” was a very humorous essay, but in some ways, it was also informative. Whether or not a person (especially a woman) wants to admit it, this essay’s content was pretty correct. Although I do not feel that guys are quite as simple as Barry tried to make them out to be (for instance, “And think how much happier women would be if, instead of endlessly fretting about what the males in their lives are thinking, they could relax, secure in the knowledge that the correct answer is: very little,” p. 381), I do feel that for the most part, guys are more relaxed and carefree than women, as this essay points out. Furthermore, I agree that there are two types of males: men and guys. However, I think that every male possesses about half and half. For instance, when a male sees another male hitting on his girlfriend, he might want to fight the offensive male. At this point, he would fall into the “man” category. However, only moments before the fight he might have been sitting at a bar with all of his friends seeing who could burp the most letters in the alphabet. Burping males certainly fall into the “guy” category. Even though I am a female, I do see myself possessing some of the “guy” characteristics, like wanting “neat stuff.” I am the type of person who will buy anything that looks impressive. My purchases range from a wireless cordless phone system that is far too sophisticated (and expensive) for my lifestyle to the perfect pancake maker (as seen on TV!). Yet I do not feel that I am a guy, so I guess there is a female counterpart to the guy. I suppose we could call it being a chick. However, I am not sure exactly what the characteristics and requirements for being a chick are. I do know, though, that if you ever witness a large group of females together, you can observe some of these less womanly characteristics. Dave Barry did an excellent job of making all people, male and female, question, observe, and understand both their serious…
