The Crucible Diary Entry Essay
Dear Diary, Today has been the strangest day of my life. I don't even know where to begin. Everything I thought I knew has been turned upside down, and I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of secrets and lies. Mrs. Coulter, who I once admired and trusted, has shown her true colors, and they are darker than the night sky. When I first heard about the concept of dust, I couldn't wrap my head around it. Dust, the mysterious substance that adults are so afraid of, the same substance that seems to be at the center of all the chaos and secrecy in our world. I can't shake off the feeling of unease that grips me whenever I think about it. What if dust is dangerous? What if it's the reason for all the horrors that plague us? Despite the fear creeping into my heart, I can't ignore the fire burning inside …show more content…
I owe it to Roger, to the Gyptians, to myself. I will not rest until I have found the answers I seek, even if it means confronting the most powerful and dangerous people in this world. Today, I spoke with Lord Asriel, the enigmatic and distant man who is also my uncle. His words were like shards of glass, cutting through the veil of ignorance that shielded me from the harsh realities of our world. He spoke of other worlds, of a great cosmic war, of a destiny that awaits me. I am not sure I understand it all, but one thing is clear – my life will never be the same again. The encounter with Mrs. Coulter was the most unsettling of all. The woman who had taken me in, who had promised me a better life, revealed her true intentions in the cruelest way possible. Her cold eyes bore into mine, stripping away the illusions I had woven around her. I saw her for what she truly is - a predator wearing a mask of charm and grace. As I sit here, penning down my thoughts in the dim light of my room, I can't help but shiver at the magnitude of the task before me. The path ahead is fraught with danger and uncertainty, but I will not

Crucible Writing Assignment (#2) Dear Diary, Alright I’m starting this diary so I can at least tell someone about how exciting my life is! I currently work as a housekeeper in house of the Proctor family, and it’s really fun. No, it’s not the work that’s fun, but it is the fact that I am kind of involved with John (Mr. Proctor). I know it sounds bad since he is married, but God put us together under the same roof for one reason; to unite our hearts. His wife is sickly and pregnant,…

Three months ago I confessed that I have a blackened soul, darkened by lechery, and I am sure I will hang this morning because of it. My puritan town Salem has been driven insane by the hysteria and paranoia associated with witchcraft and the devil, created by a group of devious children and perpetuated by various ulterior motives at work. Because of this, I have been left with nothing; my wife, Elizabeth, has been convicted and my neighbours are being killed off daily, accused of something that…

It’s now been eight days; eight days since the beginning of this madness. Eight days of hysteria in our beloved town and now I must call upon you again, Abigail, for the final time. It all started those eight long days ago, when I visited Reverend Parris, your uncle, in the heart of Salem. I came to visit your sick cousin Betty as I had heard she was ill. However, I got more than I bargained for and left as quickly as I came. When I first saw your cousin Betty I was in shock; not shocked that…

Alessia Garino Diary Entry 1: My name is Winston Smith and I think it is the year 1984, but I’m not really sure, for this matter no one is really sure of that. I’m a member of the outer party of INGSOC, live in Oceania and I work for the Ministry of Truth. What I’m writing today is a story that should never be told, as it should have never happened. Our house should be a place where we feel safe, our shelter and not our prison. Neighbors and colleagues should be our friends, people we can trust…

Diary entry Dear diary, It was my first day at the school today. It was a ridiculous school the students were crammed into small dark rooms with teachers that seemed very uneducated. The children were not much better. Many of the teachers at the school had a really bad teaching strategy and proceeded to teach the children by ramming tonnes of text books in their faces and hoping that they learn something from it. I feel rather sorry for these children forced to learn in a very old fashioned…

Dear Diary, Sinning is bad, definitely not allowed here in Salem. Well, I have committed a very bad sin a couple of days ago. John Proctor, a married man. I should be very sorry for this sin I had committed and regret it, but I just can’t. I love John Proctor, and I know he loves me, deep down in his heart. Who has asked me to meet him at the barn? John Proctor. Why else would he do it if he hadn’t loved me? September 1st was when it had first happened. While working at the Proctor home for about…

Dear Diary, Though this is a treacherous sin I am making, I must find a way to clear the thoughts and images that reappear constantly in my consciousness. Today something quite horribly interesting happened in our small town, Salem. After our midnight dance with the girls, Uncle Parris found us in the woods making all of us scatter immediately. All of us except Betty who collapsed on the ground. She was screaming about how she could not move. Uncle Parris’ face was nothing like I have ever seen…

Dear Diary, Though the sin I am committing is treacherous, I must find some consolation in clearing away the troubled thoughts and images that constantly appear in my head. Something horrible happened in our small town of Salem, Massachusetts. After our forbidden, late-night dance with Tituba, Uncle Parris came upon us in the woods forcing all us girls to run away. All of us except cousin Betty, bless her soul, who just collapsed on the ground like all the strength left her. She shrieked and hollered…

March 3, 2012 Dear Diary, I’m so upset!! I don’t even know where to begin! To start off, I think I completely failed my geometry quiz, which I know I should’ve studied more for...my dad’s not gonna be happy about that. :( Then, we had a pop quiz in history on the reading homework from last night, and I completely forgot most of what I read, which made me even more upset because I actually did the reading!
