I think that it is important to forgive one another. I understand that The Holocaust was a disgusting act and never should have happening in our world’s history, but I also understand that The Dalai Lama is trying to show the love that we as a world have forgotten. I believe that if as a whole the world needs to have more love and mercy. We are all human and we all mess up because we are not perfect.
If I was Wiesenthal I would have forgiven the Nazi solider. I am a Seventh-Day Adventist and I believe in God. In the Bible, God gave us The Ten Commandments, which are a sets of laws that believers should abide by in other words a way of living. One of these commandments are “thou shall love your enemy as yourself.” This is very powerful and important. I believe that the Jew should have forgiven the Nazi soldier and have peace with him. I think that holding grudges is very unhealthy and makes a person meaner and more hateful. I would have forgiven the soldier because it is what God would have wanted me to do.
The Dalai Lama wrote an article on showing mercy and forgiving but not forgetting. I agree because I think that our world needs more love. We all make mistakes and we should move on with our lives instead of holding grudges on
