As one, I need to regularly take care of my vision. In the past, it was much easier to retain your sight, but contemporary designers do most of their work on computers. Being in front of a screen for hours can severely degrade your vision. Not just that, but it can cause mental fatigue preventing you from being able to focus. That's why it's important to take breaks to rest your eyes. It was even encouraged where I previously worked. It's difficult though to find the time especially when you have to complete projects around tight deadlines. Even when working on school assignments, I find myself getting lost in the work and not taking a proper break. I need to be more careful with how much time I spend in front of the computer. One country that really needs a lesson on Moderation is our own, the United States. We live in a Capitalistic society that constantly promotes consumerism which our economy thrives on, but it depends on us buying. It's difficult to resist the urge to spend our hard earned money when we are exposed to advertisements everywhere we go, it's nearly inescapable. Sometimes, it feels like we are being pushed into an investment because we are told we need it. A lot of the time, we are lead on to believe we can't live truly happy lives unless we purchase these mundane material items. We have become so concerned over how much we own, that we aren't able to be satisfied with what we already own. If we can appreciate what we already have, we can better resist the temptations to spend. We need to learn we don't need to fill our homes to the roof with goods to remain happy. It's time to put down the credit card and consider if what we are buying is going to make a
