How is it to have decisions taken for you? To have your parents make your choices for you, because that, probably might be the best for you. To want to have an opinion, but have the fear neglect. All because of status, reputation and image. It could be because you are shy or because you just do not have the guts to speak out your feelings. It simply could just be because of pure shyness. These problems are described in the short story, “The happiest day of your life” written by Penelope Lively in the year 1978.
