His holiness advised people briefly, but 3 or 4 months after, he advised people in a detailed way about the concept of dharmapala in Buddhist belief in general, how things should be based on lesser vehicle, Bodhisattva vehicle, and vajrayana vehicles in such detail, that if one is a serious Bddhist practitioner, one can't help being emotional, and there is no other way other than to follow his advice. He advised the proper way of relying on worldly spirits in accordance with the general Buddhist teaching. As we know and see it very clearly that propitiation of Gods and nagas is a widespread phenomenon in our Tibetan Society. His holiness says that it is wrong according to dharma in general. In the case of doegyal propitiators, they trust him completely and say that do everything you like. So, when they go to such extreme, it is clearly against the general concept of Buddhism. In Buddhism, there are only three objects of refuge. If you are a Buddhist then, you are advised to go for refuge only in three Jewels. This is the basic law for all Buddhists. Buddha advised you against taking refuge in worldly Spirits. But if you say that you don't follow the fundamental law of Buddhism, then there is a very strange contradiction
