The fourth plane landed in a Pennsylvania field. All of the people on board the aircrafts were killed. Conquest. Control. Rule. That is what defines an empire. How the empire expands to other states, how much surface are they command, and how they govern that land. Societies that fell into this category: Rome, the Inca, the Mongol, the British (when it was an empire), America, etc. Why do I say the U.S, because like an empire, the U.S. exacts political control and influence past it’s own original boundaries, The U.S. meddles in foreign affairs and problems, and like an empire the U.S. has military posts throughout the world and conquests on foreign soil for profit. A great characteristic that has been apparent through every empire’s rule is the fall. I believe that because of division of the people, and economic collapse will be the end of the American Empire.…

One word I rarely see in these threads is humility. That is as rare as hen’s teeth and without the humility to accept there is good and bad in every person, group, society and nation then we will argue and abuse each another ad…
The catchy and unforgettable tune, “American Pie”, written and released by Don McLean in 1971, is a song that depicts not only negative and positive events of the 50’s and 60’s, but also his personal life during those years. One of the depictions, is that of the 1959 plane crash Clear Lake, Iowa. This specific plane crash was most notable known for being described with the everlasting title: The Day the Music Died. This titlement was the headline of the news published on February 3rd 1959. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper had all been killed during the crash. Coincidently, the pilot, Roger Peterson also died. The crash was sparked by the winter’s weather as well as the darkness. The plane was found in a cornfield near Clear…
Americans became closer, more spiritual, less materialistic, but only for a while. In spite of terror and grief, Americans with utmost hope and compassion helped the person in need. They prayed together and stood together. The attacks of September 11 have made some people feel insecure, particularly the ones who lost their loved ones. Appreciation, gratitude, and support to the fire fighters, the army, and to the people who protect the country have increased.[Ostroushko] Even the pop songs in TV stopped for few days. Patriotic albums were released, such as “The Rising” by Springsteen and “Freedom” by Paul McCartney. People who were obsessed with who is at the top of music charts and new releases got interested in news and the world around them. Also, the blood donation rapidly increased following the attacks, showing the feeling of sympathy felt by Americans.[Glynn] For the most part, it was an awakening for these people; September 11 showed that, for the first time in history, the American homeland is actually vulnerable to a deadly foreign enemy. Americans were so scared, that they seem to think that they saw mysterious images from the smoke of the falling twin towers such as a face of the devil.[Dolfman] As a result, Americans no longer take freedom for granted after September 11. Although these may seem like temporary changes, lasting changes did occur in the nation’s economy and security system.…
The attack on the naval base at Pearl Harbor that took place on the December 7th of 1941 was a shocking event for the American public, and had served as the catalyst for the country’s entry into the Second World War. The attack on Pearl Harbor is considered the most shocking event that left a mark on United States’ culture and public awareness before the September 11 attacks. One reason for this is the surprise nature of the attacks and the massive number of casualties. Because of this, most historians and critics, along with the public considered Pearl Harbor as a grave tragedy. This paper goes beyond highlighting how the Pearl Harbor attack is a tragedy; rather, it wants to offer an effective understanding of the circumstances surrounding the attack and the immediate and long-term effects of the attack.…
As 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump’s slogan is "Make America Great Again". He wants to help the people by also helping the economy. America has always been a country of immigrants. Ever since the birth of this nation, waves of immigrants have come here in search of a happier life. America is known all over the world as a place where people can be free in so many different ways, a place where prosperity is possible for those who work hard and want a better life for their offspring. The dilemma is though, many of those pursuing the “American Dream” come here illegally, and thus breaking the laws of the very same country they want to live in, right from the beginning. This research exposes some facts about the so heated debate of illegal immigration in America.…
America has traditionally been known as a “melting pot,” welcoming people from different countries. However, during the past few years, there has been an influx of illegal immigrants that a lot of people view as a threat to the sovereignty of our nation. This flood of undocumented immigrants has spawned a debate about whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to cross national borders and stay in the country to start a new life. In June 2008, an article titled “Argument for Illegal Immigration” was published in the Los Angeles Times where Milton Friedman discusses illegal immigration and its benefits to our nation. According to the article, “…immigration, over the Southern border, can be a good thing for the economy.” While some people might agree that illegal immigration has its benefits, these benefits are outweighed by the drawbacks. The United States should put more money into security to patrol its borders because illegal immigration is more harmful than it is beneficial not only to the country, but also to the citizens of the United States.…
Panama Canal is the one of the seven wonders of industrial world and it was opened on August 15, 1914. First, this project was initiated by a French diplomat, Ferdinand de Lesseps but in the end it was finished by an American General, Colonel George Goethals. To construct it, mankind has spent over three million dollars and twenty-eight thousands of innocent lives. However, mother nature has also paid horrendous price for this project too. Because of flooding Panama, Gatun Lake was created. This engineering act has submerged large area of pristine undisturbed of Panama rainforest and a natural land bridge that connected North and South America. Without the natural land bridge, numerous species of flora and fauna were extinct as the new aquatic…
Since The Europeans landed on American soil they have contested the Native Americans right to their own lands. The Anglo- Americans encouraged the Native Americans to assimilate to their ways. Despite the efforts of the Native Americans to work with the Anglo- Americans, they still ended up being treated exactly how the Anglo-Americans were once treated in their respective home countries. In turn, like the colonists, the Native Americans wrote out their grievances and revealed how similar the situation was; however, their efforts and claims for justice proved to be futile against the hypocritical Anglo-Americans policies, and thusly the Native Americans were unnecessarily removed from their home land.…
