The Devil's Arithmetic Theme

The devil's Arithmetic is a novel about a naive girl named Hannah who is learning about the holocaust through a Jewish holiday known as passover. She is tired of hearing about it and hates rituals, after being chosen by her grandpa Will a holocaust survivor. She opens the door for the prophet Elijah. As she opens the door she is transported into 1942, right at the beginning of the most gruesome, crucial and well known tragedies in the world, the Holocaust. In the book the theme finding the light in darkness is uncovered through plot, characters and setting.

In the book it reveals that even in the darkest times there is always hope or light.
