I woke up screaming again. Just like the past one week. I’ve been having nightmares. The same haunting scene over and over again. My 3 year old sister, is running towards me, smiling, and a dark hooded creature with pale white hands grabs her. The very thought of that gave me the chills. But something was different about today. My house was scarily silent. No phone calls, no noise from the kitchen and the prominent of all, absence of my sister’s screams to escape a bath. Where is everyone? I walked to the living room to find it empty and messy. That was when I noticed the headless teddy. FLUFFY! Priyanka wouldn’t go anywhere without her Fluffy. At least, not by herself.. Someone screamed. Could that be Priya? Is she in danger? I grabbed my mobile and ran out of the house. Corridor. Empty. Someone screamed again. This time, it really sounded like Priyanka. Adrenaline rushed into my blood. I raced down the corridor. Priyanka screamed again, and I knew she was in the elevator, which was in the farthest end of the corridor. Priyanka was scared of elevators. The last time I took her in an elevator, she got the attention of the entire apartment by screaming. I had got her that teddy for her 2nd birthday. From that day on, she carried Fluffy everywhere, and I was the only one allowed to touch him other than her. I still remember the day she wanted me to bunk school because she wanted to talk to me. I couldn’t refuse when my cute sister asked me. We spent the entire day telling stories to each other. I remember every story she told me. Most of them were about me, her and Fluffy going on a vacation. Tears were now rolling down my cheeks. What if something happens to her ? I was now 5 feet from the door. I was shivering. My sister was everything for me. I walked slowly to the door and pressed the button with shivering hands. The door opened. Empty. The walls around me were closing in on me. What was going on? Where was Priya? My phone buzzed. Text from my mom “We are at the toy store. Priya wanted a new Fluffy. Have your breakfast yourself.” I sighed with relief and turned to go back home. But who had screamed? Who cares, Priya is safe.
A pair of pale white hands grabbed me from the back. Everything went black . . .
