When Wright finally finished school he talked about how he had to go get a job because his mother couldn’t support him anymore. The only place Wright could get a job was working for the whites at an optical company. When he starts talking about what his boss does to the blacks it hits me very deep. I couldn't imagine living the life of Richard Wright somedays we might think we have it rough but after reading this our lives really aren’t that bad. Not being able to live a normal life such as being told where you can and cannot go, who you can hangout with, and the type of job that you can have is something that I don’t wish on my worst enemy. Wright had a very rough childhood just like many other blacks in this time period. I am not saying that there still isn’t racism in our world today because there is but it’s not like it was in the time of Richard
