Mujeres Latinas strength is counseling. We have counseling services for our clients who suffered domestic violence. It is very powerful to see clients coming to this groups and receivinged the support that they were expecting. Another intervention program that mMujeres offer is court advocacytes so domestic violence survivors can get their order of protection. Court advocates are in the whole process with clients until they get their OP.
Child therapy is a program, that helps children who experienced domestic violence at their homes an equal chance to be treated in the difficult situations they lived in. Sexual assault is also one of the programs we have and as a difference of domestic violence. Volunteers will go to the hospital and visit people who suffered sexual assault. Domestic violence survivors go to the agency and they will ask for advice and referrals.
One of the programs that we recently started doing in collaboration with Catholic Charities, we offered is intervention with Visa U and Visa Vawa. These two Visas work differently. U Visa is for clients who experienced any type of violence from any person, but we use it more when client got experienced domestic violence by their partners who are not legal residents. Visa Vawa is for any person who got experienced violence from their partners and they are legal
