Digestive system
The Gallbladder is an organ that is a part of the digestive system.
It is located on the right side of the abdominal cavity, under the liver. The structure of the gallbladder is a “pear” shaped sac. It is made of muscle. The gallbladder is a sac that holds the bile while the bile is is not being used to digest fats and acids. Bile is a liquid so a pouch/sac is a good container to hold liquids. Then the muscle will squeeze or contract when bile is needed in the duodenum.
Excretory system
The bladder is an organ from the excretory system. The structure of the bladder is a muscular sac. It is located above the pubic bone, and slightly behind it. The bladder can also look like a “pear” when it is empty. The bladder holds the urine that was made in the kidneys. The bladder has many layers of muscle tissue. This is so that the bladder can expand to hold more urine if needed. The pear shape that the bladder has gives it a good structure or container to hold the
urine.
