The Gay Abortion Stephanie Fairyington Summary

“The Gay Option,” A fitting title for Stephanie Fairyington’s article based on the points she made within about whether homosexuality is a choice. Utilizing her credibility as a gay person, Fairyington addresses the belief that being gay is biological when she says that it wasn’t her choice to be gay, but acting on her desire for the same sex was her choice. To persuade readers to accept her beliefs, she also sites multiple studies. Fairyington begins by telling her painful outing story. She told her mother that she was, “born this way” (Fairyington, 50). I believe wholeheartedly that she was. It is my contention that in the history of the United States, as a whole, gay people have been treated horribly. Therefore, I do not believe that any of them have “decided” to be gay. “Mother Nature’s mistake” (Fairyington, 50).
