1. - New York. Starts off in case, trial against two young boys that hurt Amerigo Bonasera’s daughter. Get sentenced to 3 years in confinement to the penitentiary and suspended the sentence. They went free.
2. - The two boys parents are more “American” in their dress. - Amerigo is upset this is all they got, he yells out to the parents of the two boys as they walk by “You will weep as I have wept – I will make you weep as your children make me weep.” - Although he has trusted law and order in all his years in America, he now feels hatred and has thoughts of buying a gun and killing the two boys. He turns to his wife and says “They have made fools of us.” “For justice we must go on our knees to Don Corleone.”
4. – Los Angeles. Johnny Fontane drunk, fantasizing about killing his trampy wife when and if she got home. Mention of first wife and kids, mention old friends he lost because his career was plunging.
- Margot Ashton, his wife came home. She was beautiful, and he thought so. She was on screen and a hundred million of men all over the world were in love with her face.
- When Johnny asked where she was she said “Out fucking” so he jumped over the cocktail table and grabbed her by the throat. But when he saw her lovely face he became helpless again. - The baker Nazorine, had a daughter Katherine. Enzo, his bakers helper was a prisoner of war (?) and was afraid he would have to go back to Italy. He asked for Nazorine’s daughters hand in marriage but if he had to go back then that wouldn’t happen. Nazorine’s
