The Great And Only Barnum Summary
My book is The Great and Only Barnum by Candice Fleming. It has 151 pages.

This book is a biography of P.T. Barnum who was born in 1810 in Bethel, Connecticut.

I have learned a lot from this book. P.T. Barnum once had a practical joke played on him. That joke made him into a prankster. He made a museum called the American museum. For unknown reasons it burned after about 10 years. He built second museum it burned because of boiler problems. He ran for mayor twice. This book teaches a lot.

He owned two museums before being the owner of a circus.

P.T. Barnum had a lot of traits. He was a happy man. He was also sometimes sad. He was very energetic. He stopped being energetic when he got a bad sickness. After that he looked very old. He liked

I chose the biographical nonfiction book With Malice Toward None: A Life of Abraham Lincoln by Stephen B. Oates. As one may guess, the book is about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. I am generally interested in Abraham Lincoln anyways, and I have heard good things about this book, so I decided to read it for the extension project, which made me part of Oates’ intended audience.…

Well, as he writes on the back of a page, “I HAVE HAD A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL!”(136). I imagine spending as long as he did alone he had time to think about his life, go over the events that lead him to where he was. Although i cannot say for certain, I believe in his retrospective of his life, he found something that he didn’t see before. He spent the last years of his life gazing at natures beauty, and in his final days i feel as though he finally saw the beauty of the human world.…

An interesting point to this discussion is that many of the “pros” are argued by some to be disadvantages, and many of the “cons” are believed to be the advantages of the system by others. It could be said that the Electoral College was created for a different time in this country, but by some degree of fortune and foresight it is one of the staples of our government today.…

Candidiasis is an infection caused by Candida fungi, especially Candida Albicans. These fungi are found almost everywhere in the environment. Some may live harmlessly along with the abundant "native" species of bacteria that normally grow the mouth, gastrointestinal tract and vagina. Usually, Candida is kept under control by the native bacteria and by the body's immune defenses. If the native bacteria are decreased by antibiotics or if the person's immune system is weakened by illness (especially AIDS or diabetes), malnutrition, or certain medications, Candida fungi can multiply to cause symptoms. Candida infections can cause occasional symptoms in healthy people. Candidiasis can affect many parts of the body, causing localized infections or larger illness,…

The contemptuous tone of William Faulkner’s Barn Burning is delivered through passages in which the son, Colonel Sartoris Snopes, is found to be paying more attention to details of his setting than the events in which he is involved. His descriptions of his family, and the manner in which the son is found to feel about his father’s choices, reveal a tone that indicates a scornful yet dutiful perspective. Sarty goes along with his family, realizing that he is expected to support his family, about whom he has mixed emotions. He finds his father expecting him to lie to a Justice of the Peace, describes his sisters in a demeaning manner, and he describes his desire to escape his family.…

The time period in which “Much Ado About Nothing” was written directly pertains to its plot, thoughts, and mannerisms of the audience that they play was written for. The play was written in 1598 and produces two plots one being an unconventional love plot involving a strong woman named Beatrice who does not conform or choose to conform to the societal expectations put upon her in a traditional way. “Much Ado About Nothing” highlights the negative female stereotypes, magnifies the connotations that men should overpower and control woman, and that women are evil “cuckholds”, whom no one should trust. Beatrice’s character portrays these negative expectations of gender, deceptions of the opposite gender, and gender prejudices using her love story with Sir Benedick and with the addition of her witty nature, and…
