The Great Gatsby is considered as a masterpiece of American classics. This is the story of fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan. Gatsby throws up incredible parties to make people enjoyed. He does everything for the love of Daisy but in return He gets disappointedly left. Maybe, Daisy’s “love” towards Gatsby was not actual, but very fake. All of her fake love expressions was actually for Jay’s wealth. She did never love him and never cared of him. “Suddenly, with a strained sound, Daisy bent her head into the shirts and began to cry stormily. “They are such beautiful shirts “ she sobbed , her voice muffled in the thick folds. “it makes me sad because I have never seen such – such beautiful shirts before.”” – when Gatsby makes a little tour around his house and the shows her his clothes, Daisy starts crying. Actually shirts were not reasons of her tears. But, she’s so overwhelmed by Gatsby’s wealth and materially “greatness” , that she can’t help not to cry. She answers this to Gatsby. “I love you too”-is kind of absurd, that her love for him is one of the several considerations. What she’s saying contradict with each other. She says that he never loved Tom but then says that she did love him once. Her speaking makes as minimal sense as her love for Jay. What she’s speaking is complete absurd. She says she love both of them so she’s stuck in the middle. She can’t make decision between Gatsby and Tom, maybe between their wealth
