China has a great history of dynasties, but one of the most successful ones was the Ming Dynasty, also known as The Great Ming Empire, that ruled from 1368 to 1644. The Ming Dynasty came to power only because the previous dynasty had fallen victim to various rebellions and stuck in the middle of an economic crisis. In 1363, Zhu Yuanzhang came to power by eliminating all his rivals with his great naval army. During his reign, he took on the name of Hongwu, which means Vastly Martial. During his time as emperor, he focused his energy on rebuilding China from the ground up. Sadly, with all great dynasties, they always fall when they have reached their end point. The Ming Dynasty had stressed itself by fighting to many wars with Japan and not focusing on other important factors than war. Soon the government came to a stop and the Eunuchs started to gain control of the military, and whoever controls the military, controls the country. Also like typical down falls, the economy was falling due to the shortage of silver. Famine and natural disasters, especially the 1556 deadly earthquake, contributed with the down fall of the Ming Dynasty.
