What we imagine as a vicious creature is actually is actually a very peaceful and curious creature. All of the sharks are mysterious, but the Great White is perhaps the most mysterious and the most endangered of them all. Sharks are vicious looking creatures, but are actually curious and fragile creatures. There are about 500 species of sharks, but very few will attack a human. There are only three species that would even accidentally attack a human. They are the Bull Shark, the Tiger Shark, and The Great White Shark. Did you know that Jaws was based off of a real incident where a shark killed 4 people?
Chances are if you went swimming in the ocean, you were probably near a shark. Sharks have been around for over 400 million years, and now because of humans, they are becoming extinct. Falling coconuts kill on average 150 people were else sharks kill 4-12 people every year. According to “The Great Sharks”, Whale sharks can live for over seventy years, but it takes them 30 years to reproduce. These sharks have done nothing except trying to survive. In a year Great Whites can eat a ton of food, literally. The reason Great Whites attack people relatively close to shore is because that’s where they catch seals and turtles. When sharks see surfers from below, they look just like their prey. After 1 bite, a shark can decide if he wants to eat the food. That is why most shark victims are only bit once. If a Great White eats a lot of food, it can go a whole month without eating again. This creature has adapted to it's home so we should help it survive instead of trying to destroy it. Even though the Great White is the most endangered and mysterious, all of the sharks need our help. The sharks might look like indestructible creatures, but in reality they are very fragile. Great White is the most feared of the sharks so it is also one of the most endangered sharks. If we let people continue to kill sharks, they will disappear from the ocean and that would destabilize the entire ecosystem. That is the truth behind the supposed demon of the ocean.
