Normally we hear that the Germans started this but in fact the French did and the Germans were the first to study it with great detail and use it on a large scale (Duffy, 2009). Luckily besides military agents which are hardly used anymore, chemical agents have a smell and detectability. The treatment for chemical skin irritant agents is lots of soap and water. The other agents that are of less concern is OC, CN, and CS. These are crowd control agents and are not as harmful as the other versions of chemical agents. Overall the monitoring of chemical making, transportation, and storing by our government as well as treaties that are already in place by the government. Educational materials and classes can also be offered to citizens on how to respond when a chemical attack is imminent as well as how emergency responders should respond. Chemicals have been used for years during wars and by different countries. Two of the most well-known times that chemicals were used are World War One and Halajba Massacre.
Both these events have shown the bad effects that the chemicals have on those affected as well as the generations after them. Hopefully through monitoring the making, transportation, and storage of these chemical agents, we as a country can control the chance of a terrorist attack and
