The Happy Ending Of Disney Or Pixar Movies
Watching the trailers before movies in the theater and going home waiting for the day the movie comes out. The anticipation would build up and excitement would grow day by day. Finally, the day would come to view the much awaited movie and walking out of the theater, there would be no disappointment. Disney never fails to make great movies and it’s all due to certain characteristics they apply in their best films.
One characteristic in Disney movies is that the main character typically only has one parent or no parents at all. An example of this would be Cinderella because the only parental figure she had was her stepmother. Cinderella’s mother died when she was very young and her father died a few years later. Therefore she is left with

An example of a happy ending would be in the movie Moana. Moana faces conflict when she wants to go past the reef because resources are becoming harder and harder to find, but she is forbidden to go past the reef. She goes past the reef anyway and puts the heart back into Te Fiti and everything returns to the way it was. They become voyagers again. If she didn’t defy the rules and go past the reef and follow her heart, the land would have continued to die and they wouldn’t have become voyagers again. Another example of a Disney happy ending movie is in the Lion King. In the movie Simba’s father dies and his uncle convinces him that it was his fault. This leads to him running away where no one can find him. The kingdom becomes an awful place to be. Looking for food, Naila found Simba and convinced him to come back to the kingdom Simba comes back, takes control and the kingdom becomes a great place to live again. The last example of a happy ending is Pete’s Dragon. In the movie, Pete's dragon is taken from him so the antagonist can have fame and be able to say he caught the dragon. Pete was taken in by a family, separating them, but Pete saved the dragon. With the help of his new family, they took the dragon to his home with the other dragons where they could visit every once in awhile. Moana, The Lion King, and Petes Dragon are all examples of happy endings because the main characters defeat the villain and go on with their happy lives. In all good Disney movies, the main character has a sidekick. In Cars, Lightning McQueen has Mater for a sidekick. They do everything together including going on journeys together. They are very close friends. If they didn’t have this very close relationship the movie wouldn’t have been nearly as entertaining. In Pete’s Dragon, Pete has his dragon who raised him from a very young age when Pete’s parents died. They were inseparable and when the dragon was taken,

    4. The British novelist Fay Weldon offers this observation about happy endings. "The writers, I do believe, who get the best and most lasting response from their readers are the writers who offer a happy ending through moral development. By a happy ending, I do not mean mere fortunate events -- a marriage or a last minute rescue from death -- but some kind of spiritual reassessment or moral reconciliation, even with the self, even at death." Choose a novel or play that has the kind of ending Weldon describes. In a well-written essay, identify the "spiritual reassessment or moral reconciliation" evident in the ending and explain its significance in the work as a whole.…

“Wit,” by Margaret Edson, and “Atonement,” by Ian McEwan, both consist of happy endings in a deep and meaningful way. The outcome of these novels may not be perfect endings ripped straight out of a Disney Movie; however, they are happy due to the characters being able to undergo “some kind of spiritual reassessment or moral reconciliation, even with the self, even at death” (Weldon). In “Wit,” Vivian’s ability to reevaluate herself and morally accept the decisions she has made throughout her life, creates a positive outcome for the novel.…

In her story Happy Endings, author Atwood speaks of various possible plots on what a happy ending is, almost like “what ifs?”, giving the reader a rush in each situation with a distinct “happy ending”. “Intended to ‘reveal the logic of traditional behavior and the many textures lying beneath ordinary life’” quotes the textbook. Causing the reader to wonder, “What is a ‘happy ending’?”. Everyone has a different interpretation of what a happy ending is and Atwood encourages her readers to explore their thoughts through her writing.…

Unfortunately, the sun set on the third day. This meant that Ariel now belonged to Ursula forever. But, King Triton stepped in. “To save his daughter, King Triton gave Ursula his great powers and became her prisoner” (Musker & Clements 13). I believe that King Triton is the heroic one in this fairytale because he was willing to give up his powers as king of the sea just to save his daughter that betrayed him in the first place. If anything, that is true love and not the blinded love Ariel felt for the prince. Of course, the story focuses more on Prince Eric saving Ariel by killing the sea-witch, Ursula. In the end, the Prince Eric and Ariel share true loves kiss and live happily ever after. But, the ending still leaves me questioning how true…

I agree with the first statement in the paragraph. If you think about the events that took place in the novel, you will understand that the story line is not a happy one. As described by JC Burke, the novel outlines grief in many instances, sadness in the way of Nicole and Luke’s families. Although these emotions are outlined there is still bright and happy emotions…

Atwood’s intentions of this story were to make the reader question the point of life. Implying that maybe humans are only born to die. She wants other writers and just people, in general, to make the beginning interesting and to not focus on the ending. “Happy Endings” has a completely satirical style that mocks the existence of happy endings. Atwood depicts her satirical style with the use of empty adjectives, irony, and metaphors throughout her…

If, ‘I Hear America Singing’ depicts a brighter and more up-beat society; ‘I Sit and Look Out’ describes a dark, sad, corrupted, sorrowful world. Walt Whitman uses sad words describing emotion and just all sorts of corruption imaginable. In this sense the entire poem is a poignant criticism of life, with the speaker acting as a detached observer, finally leaving it upon the reader to react and judge against the malady of life that the poet shows within the framework of just ten lines.…
