Maya Angelou is an inspiration to all women around the world. Her strength is internationally known. In “The Heart of a Woman” Maya Angelou recounts her life events between age 17 and 19. She raises her teenage son, becomes a successful author, and becomes romantically involved with a South African freedom fighter, as well as other men in her life time. Maya Angelou is a woman for all of us to emulate.
The book ends with Angelou’s son leaving for college and Angelou looking forward to newfound independence and freedom. Angelou’s life revolved around providing for her son.
