Many companies are spend billions to find solutions or develop strategies on supply chain management which require to understanding of supply chain process , organizations roles and measure performance . As supply chain management effect on the way companies organized it important to know how they divided departments. The traditional organizations structure divide people according to their functions, each department has functions to do. Alternative way to improved supply chain management is customer segmentation which increased meet of customer needs under statement “ one size fit all ”. In addition there another way for supply chain is market segmentation which have a threat and opportunity. Threat by able competitor to focused on tailor supply chain to the needs of main segment served then will be lost. However, companies can focused on competitors methods to bypass and make successes. In addition when organization should has a supply chain management? to answer this question we need to understanding of the position of products relative to competitors and where they are in the product life cycle. Also, to have batter management supply chain management must focused on profitability and shorten reaction time to competitive move. For example if we have three customer segments and four product lines , number of profit earned in each segment by product line and quadrant of the product grid to monitor where profitable will be.
