Our bodies are supported by the skeletal system which is made up of bones, ligaments and tendons. The skeletal system works with the muscular system to help the body move. It shapes the body and also protects organs. Inside bones we found the Marrow, which is soft, fatty tissue that produces red blood cells, many white blood cell and other immune system cells.
The muscular system consists of about 650 muscles and is responsible for the movement of the human body. The body is made up of three types of muscle tissue: skeletal, smooth and cardiac. Each of these has the ability to contract and expand, which allows the body to move and function. Muscle tissue is also found inside of the heart, digestive organs, and blood vessels, where the muscles serve to move substances throughout the body.
The heart, cardiac muscle, is like a pump that sends blood around your body and gives you the oxygen you need . There are two chambers on each side of the heart, two superior atria and two inferior ventricles. The atria and ventricles work together contracting to release the blood they contain. The valves open and close to let the blood flow in only one direction, there are 4 valves The two atrioventricular (AV) valves, which are between the atria and the ventricles and The two semilunar (SL) valves, which are in the arteries leaving the heart, are the aortic valve and the pulmonary valve. There are three varieties of blood vessels: arteries, veins, and capillaries. During blood circulation, the arteries carry blood away from the heart. The capillaries connect the arteries to veins. Finally, the veins carry the blood back to the heart.
The digestive system consists of a series of connected organs that together, allow the body to break down food into protein, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and fats, which the body needs for energy, growth, and repair. The excess food that the body doesn't need or can't digest is
