The novel “The Hunger Games” is an exhilarating science fiction novel that has been written by Suzan Collins has been unforgettable and spectacular novel through its themes. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world with the fascinating story of Katniss Everdeen and has become extremely popular for teenagers around the world. The theme of the government’s power using their authority to control the rules and heartlessly keeps its population lifeless and controlled is very fierce and terrifying against the citizens of Panem. The love triangle between Katniss and Peeta, Gale and Katniss keeps everyone wondering and wanting to read more. The tributes must try and use all of their strengths and skills to try and conquer the Hunger Games.
The government uses their power to control the rules and control the lives of the powerless citizens of Panem to utterly petrify and frighten them. The country of Panem was created after a destructive war; the government uses their control to rule the citizens of Panem and to stop another rebellion from arising. All of the rich citizens in Panem live in the Capitol, which is were the government is situated and the citizens become hostages in a game called The Hunger Games were the citizens must fight in the game for live or death. The Hunger Games was designed by the government as a reminder of the rebellion and to show them that they do control their lives and there is no hope of freedom in the districts. The games are for children aged between 12-18, which is used as tributes who must kill or be killed in order to survive the games. “Your in trouble. The word is the Capitol’s furious about you showing them up in the arena”. In this quote Haymitch explains that the Capitol
